Orientation

Compass smallWelcome to the LEAD International Training Session (ITS) web portal, for this year’s event on “Leadership and Climate Change”. This is your gateway to information, resources and discussion on the event itself and the issues that surround the core themes of the training.

Climate change is now increasingly accepted as an all-encompassing global issue that will be seen and experienced by people all over the world. At last year’s UN Climate Conference of the Parties, Kofi Annan said that though there has been action on climate change, “that step is far too small…as we consider how to go further still, there remains a frightening lack of leadership”.

The purpose of the ITS is to equip emerging leaders from around the world with the knowledge to understand the challenge of climate change, and the will and capacity to take a leadership role.
